Verona Optical (CEO Kwen Man-sung) of the Philippines held a free checkup and free eyeglasses event at the Makati Poklasian Barangai Hall near Manila's Koreatown with MTC Opto-Medic (CEO Maria Theresa Ong Lim) on the 7th.
The free glasses event, which was held with MTC Opto-Medic, a distributor related to optical equipment and glasses in the Philippines, targeted about 180 people, including local low-income students, the elderly and the disabled.
On this day, the volunteer work was successfully completed with the support of Korean opticians working at Verona Optical, Philippine optometrist, Filipino dispensers and local Philippine companies, and cooperation of city officials.
Meanwhile, Verona Optical is striving to strengthen ties with local residents and public officials and improve awareness in the Philippines by holding a job fair and participating in the main spoiler of the Youth Drug Prevention National Tour Concert hosted by the Philippine broadcaster ABS-CBN.
Park Sung-yeop, CEO of SM Mall Fairview, who hosted the event, said, "We have been conducting volunteer work every year, following Ddalak and Angeles," and stressed, "We plan to continue our social contribution activities in the Philippines through volunteer work."
Meanwhile, Verona Optical opened a glasses franchise corporation in Manila, the Philippines, in 2007 and is conducting a glasses franchise business at SMALL, the Philippines' top department store.
